This is my least favorite yet. I'm just struggling to find anything to latch onto with these books, to be honest. Muderbot as a character doesn't really interest me, so I have to be into something else. And the plot of this book was... coporate espianage? It just didn't really work for me. And the supporting cast changing up every book is making it even harder to get attached.
These aren't bad books! In fact, I would say they are good and a lot of people will enjoy them. I ust have high expectations for something so well loved.

Murderbot continues to explore the universe and their identity in the third installment of their diaries. This series is officially my jew comfort read. Until recently I didn't know cosy Sci-fi was a thing, and when I first wrote a flash-fiction piece in this genre (see "soupe intergalactique" in French on my blog) I thought it was a weird, one-off thing, partly inspired by Becky Chambers (who has quite a lot of tension & drama, and I'm also here for it). Then came The Mandalorian, and after that I discovered Murderbot and their adventures make my heart happy.
Minor: Gun violence

Murderbot is comfort food in book form. This humourous, bizarre sci-fi series is a wonderful relief from everyday life and is fast becoming one of my favourite series.
The Good:
- More of the Murderbot we know and love: they are sarcastic, relatable and an all round brilliant protagonist.
- The cast of characters remains diverse and versatile.
- Some good plot twists, some I saw coming and others kicked my legs out from under me.
What could have been better?:
- The bot characters in this installment weren't quite as enjoyable as in Artificial Condition. Maybe we were spoiled with ART
Overall a great third entry and now looking forward to the fourth.

This installment in the Murderbot Diaries was a little womp-ish. Don't get me wrong, it was good, and I love Murderbot a little more with each book, but this one definitely wasn't a favorite. Maybe because we hardly watch any media at all in this one?? I did enjoy Murderbot's relationship with Miki, though, and the results of that on their growth. Officially switching from ebook to audio from here on out, though, on the recommendation of a friend!
Moderate: Gun violence, Medical trauma, and Violence
