The cranky Murderbot continues on it’s journey to discover the truth behind GreyCris and where it might belong in the world. I really appreciated the way the world and characters have progressed in these novella’s. Miki the “pet bot” was a really interesting addition to this story, as well as the emotions that Murderbot has when they discover that Miki has never been abused or mistreated by it’s humans.

I hate caring about stuff. But apparently once you start, you just can’t stop.

No matter how much Murderbot continues to tell itself that it hates all humans, and finds them disgusting, it still finds its self caring about others, and attempting to save them.

This one was very similar to the previous book. If the book hadn't ended the way it did I might not keep going. I'm looking forward to getting back to Dr. Mensah and crew. But I was pretty down at work and listening to my good friend Murderbot made feel better. It may not be having a good time but watching it experience events and situations against its will is fun

That was one [] of a ride. I love the parallel between the relationship between murderbot and Dr. Mensah and the relationship between Miki and Abene as well as how that contributes to murderbot's decision at the end. The book kept me hooked the whole way through and though I was a little confused at some parts I think it's due to how I was opting not to reread parts for clarification so I could read faster lol. Teared up at the ending. This was such a meaningful part of the murderbot diaries and has cemented the fact that my favourite part of this series is the conncections between characters.
