I really enjoyed this book! The vibes remind me of books like: Dark Lord of Derkholm by Diana Wynn Jones, Dealing With Dragons by Patricia C Wrede, and Villains and Virtues by AK Caggiano. Cozy and somewhat whimsical/fairytale like.

The main characters were fun and the side characters were well rounded and varied. Worldbuilding was a semi generic D&D or RPG like setting but with a light satirical/comedic tone.

Romance: no spice, kisses only (very cute though!!)

I did see some problems with the editing. The first chapters were somewhat weak and having short, four or five pages, chapters made the pacing feel off. In addition there were some misspellings and word swaps such as “he’s” replacing “his”. I would recommend trying a sample or using Kindle Unlimited before committing if these things will bother you.

This was so cute! This was my first litrpg, so some of the litrpg aspects took a while to get used to. The romance was so sweet and wholesome! I'm very excited to continue with this series and hopefully read other books by this author : )

I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I went into this book with really high hopes which usually isn't a good idea but this book exceeded my expectations! If you love cozy fantasy with humor, you NEED to pick this up. This is a LitRPG story so do keep that in mind.

I loved all the characters so much, the found family in this is just immaculate. At first, it seemed like Henrietta was a little too perfect and happy with all she went through but as you read on, that isn't the case and you get to see her battle her demons which I thought was well done. Dark Magician Keith was absolutely hilarious but being a dark lord aside, absolutely a walking green flag and I adored him. I loved everyone he surrounded himself with and how much they love and respect each other under all the teasing.

I really wasn't expecting the final conflict to go the way it did and I was genuinely anxious for the characters!

This has skyrocketed easily into one of my favorite books of all time and I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next.

A hilarious, wonderfully told story of overcoming traumatic pasts, fighting against expectations, and the greatest battle of all, death to buttons. (seriously, how DARE that button!)

this was my first ever LitRPG story so I had to get used to some of the genre quirks but man am I SO glad I was able to pick up this book! it has it all! princesses, warriors, sword battles, magic, dragons, political shenanigan's, kidnappings, poor damsel kings in distress, and the Happily Ever After the main characters deserved. the worldbuilding alone left me in awe, with every kind of being under the sun from trolls, to high elves, to griffons and even the undead!

we follow Princess Henrietta as she is sent on a quest, more or less, to die. she has to go and challenge the dreaded evil dark lord of the monster filled forest. said evil overlord, is tired and just wants a nap and sends her off to go have fun baking. Henrietta soon finds herself having fun, and being herself for the first time in her life, and has to choose between disappointing her parents with her continued existence, or living with the dark denizens of the dark forest. with one choice, she lives in misery, and the other choice could lead to a happily ever after. with a prophetic fortune teller guiding the way, Henrietta has a lot of choices to make before she gets her happily ever after.
