Pregnancy is a prevalent theme as well as raising and losing children. The story centers around numerous child murders. Only one is described in detail towards the end of the book: the suffocation of an infant. And a side character has an induced miscarriage off page. The main character is basically accused of modern day hysteria by her partner and family with the exception of her younger sister. Their misogynistic treatment of her is continuous throughout the novel until pages from its conclusion.
I would have loved for someone to get an abortion at least once. Like damn this town a breeding ground for real?? Her husband talking about her giving up her job, etc. and these people just obsessed with child rearing for no reason. You're telling me every single family there wants kids?? To hell with your husbands, to hell with the kids.

Good read. Was enjoyable. Was quite unpredictable so I liked that. Wasn't sure what I was expecting with this book but I enjoyed it. felt crazy weird to imagine if that's something that happened how we would all go about it.
