I can say now that "The Dragon Republic" is my favorite book of the trilogy. "The Burning God" is a conclusion and at the same time, it's not. Without giving any spoilers, R.F. Kuang has been preparing us for everything that happens in this third book. Some political and social conclusions seemed courageous to me on the part of the author.
I feel that Rin is perhaps the most perfect fusion with her God, who feeds on anger, revenge, and a thirst to consume everything. But what happens when the war has taken everything from the people, and all they want now is food and stability? What will the Phoenix feed on?
The political plot remains dense and euphoric, the country now succumbs to the brute force of two shamans, and the Hesperians are betting everything on overthrowing what they consider to be a Nikara illusion - their religion.
Although it's the book that took me the longest to read of the three, especially because a portion involves long walks through the country, it's a book that gives us a lot about the original Trifecta, with moments of revenge and closure for more than one trio.
I confess I wanted more. And at the same time, I thought it made sense to end as it did. Rin, Kitay, Nezha, and even Venka, I wanted to exist in that universe with them just for a little while longer.
If R.F. Kuang had room for a few more books, especially given how it ended? Without a doubt
