This is the typical urban fantasy story with a female protagonist. Riley is yet another UF "badass" with awful taste in men who spends the whole book wanting to get fucked. Her excuse is that her werewolf side is in heat because of the approaching full moon. When she's not sleeping around she makes time to rescue her brother and uncover a conspiracy.

I liked the main character in this novel and also found other characters quite enjoyable but did not care for certain aspects of the book. The world building was interesting and having an urban fiction novel set in Australia was a nice change.
However...for all intents and purposes this character was raped at least twice during the course of the novel and because of the moon fever, derived some pleasure from it. I would think this would cause at least a little mental pain to the main character but it was treated as if it were insignificant. She was more disturbed by the fact that she slept with someone to gain information than she was about the rape and that seemed odd and jarring to me.

3.5 stars on first read & 2nd. Often times books with long end games take a bit to real me in.

Good start to the series
-Not a HEA, but no cliffhanger either
-M/F
-PG13
-wolfy, vamps
-Kick ass female
-Worth discounted buy ($$)
The overall plot did get a little complicated especially with so many characters. But, it was a good story. I enjoyed the depth of the characters and the hawt romance between them. Looking forward to the next book. Although, I didn't immediately plow into after finishing the first.. But I appreciate an author who doesn't stoop low and leave cliffhangers. Haha

Its shifter vampire pornography with bits of an actually decent plot in between and the action sequences are kinda cool. It takes place in Melbourne, Australia, and my dumb American brain definitely butchered their accents in my head. brain says its a 4/10, but my heart says its a 6/10. Pretty enjoyable tbqh ✨

It's really hard to rate this because it was terrible but a really enjoyable terrible if that makes sense? I really hope the next book isn't so dedicated to sex, because I can handle it as an element but not the main focus of an entire book. At least not beyond the first book in a series.
