Nice easy story. I did like that there was no third act breakup but I do wish there was more conflict, it did feel like it dragged on.

Definitely my favorite Curto book so far. LOVED the banter and rivalry. The uses of "Emmy girl" were all perfect.

Question of the Day: would I read anything Chelsea Curto ever writes? Undoubtedly.

Face Off had me giggling, kicking my feet, crying, the works. Emmy and Maverick are soulmates. Everything they’ve experienced in their lives drew them together so perfectly.

We meet Maverick as this bright light, the jokester, but he becomes so much more: a boy who has been let down and forgotten, fighting for control of his life, and just wanting to be enough.

Emmy comes across as confident and self-assured, and she is but, we are soon transported into the heart of someone who has been mistreated and disrespected by the people who should love her the most.

These two characters are perfect for each other. They provide validation. They truly care, and they absorb everything the other says and does. Their love is pure and trusting and I just adored reading about it.

Separately, the side characters in this book are incredible. Grant and Ethan make me howl. I want to be Hudson’s best friend, and I can’t wait to see Piper crack Liam’s shell.

Is there a lot of exposition in the dialogue? Sure. But the plot and adoring characters make for another near perfect Chelsea Curto novel. She can do no wrong.

I loved this book so much. I can’t decide if I’m more excited to read Hudson’s book or Liam’s book next.
