I can't decide whether this should be a three or a four star because I had some real trouble getting into it at the start. This might be due to the reading slump I'm in or it could've caused it. I don't really know.

But I did end up really enjoying the end stories. My favourite was probably Brand new Attraction by Cassandra Clare and The Map of Tiny Perfect Things by Lev Grossman However in ninety minutes, turn north was probably my least favourite as it was way too long for me. I felt that the story could've been told in a shorter way, it just felt like it dragged way too much.

Overall, I really enjoyed the collection and do want to try My True Love Gave to Me edited by Stephanie Perkins, which I should've read now for the christmasy vibes

I read the first collection, "My True Love Gave to Me" and I LOVED IT! I was a little scared that I had set the bar too high on this follow up, but no worries. I loved this one just as much. There is an amazing slew of teen authors who contributed to this: Francesca Lia Block (although her contribution was my least favorite, it's a darker depressing one - so basically her style), Libba Bray, Veronica Roth, Cassandra Clare, Leigh Bardugo, and more. Each story is a summer romance, but other than that they are all unique. There is a sci-fi one, a gay one, a fantasy one, a futuristic one, and more. My favorite one may have been "Last Stand at the Cinegore" because everything about that short story was hilarious and memorable. Overall, a wonderful collection that you will want to come back to time and again. I certainly plan on buying it for my personal collection!

Overall I liked this anthology as a whole. I break down each story below:
1. Head, Scales, Tongue, Tail by Leigh Bardugo
3.25- interesting concept. Did feel emotional at the end
2. The End of Love by Nina Lacour
2- it was ok. Honestly didn’t remember it once it was done.
3. Last Stand at the Sinagore by Libba Bray
3.75- unexpected plot. Nice ending. Enjoyed that this was from the boys pov.
4. Sick Pleasure by Francesca Lia Block
4.25- I really enjoyed this one. Not a hea but realistic with likable characters. True summer love
5. In 19 minutes, turn north by Stephanie Perkins
3- it was good. Nice HEA but wish the characters were more developed.
6. Souvenirs by Tim Federle
2.5 - characters were underdeveloped and didn’t feel connected to them/their story. But pretty indicative of teen summer love
7. Inertia by Veronica Roth
2.5- interesting take. Happy it worked out but still felt disconnected from the characters and their story.
8. Love is the last resort by Jon Skovron
4.25- a nice quick tale. Coworkers/friends working together to help each other be with who they want.
9. Good luck and farewell by Brandy Colbert
3.75- characters were well developed. I cried. I found the family love more compelling than the romantic love.
10. Brand New Attraction by Cassandra Clare
4.25- Less a love story and more a fantasy. I loved the family and the resolution. Interesting read with characters you can connect with. I would have read a whole novel about this.
11. 1,000 ways it could all go wrong by Jennifer E. Smith
2.5- nice liked the background info. Typically teen summer romance but kinda forgettable
12. The Map of Tiny Perfect Things by Lev Grossman
4- really liked this. Not much information about the characters until the end. Sad but hopeful. Nice way to wrap it all up.

A collection of short stories from a group of YA authors. I enjoyed these stories very much. Especially the ones from Stephanie Perkins and Veronica Roth. I was told that there was actually a book that came out before this one that I need to go back and read! I enjoyed the fun summer atmosphere and hope that they continue to write two more books-one for Fall and one for Spring!

☆☆☆☆ Cabeza, escamas, lengua, cola - Leigh Bardugo
☆☆☆ El final del amor - Nina Lacour
☆☆☆☆ Última sesión en el Cinegore - Libba Bray.
☆☆ Placer Malsano - Francesca Lia Block

Head, Scales, Tongue, Tail by Leigh Bardugo 3/5
I love Leigh's writing but this story was a little odd, enjoyable, but odd.

The End of Love by Nina LaCour 3/5
A cute F/F romance, with not much else to say

Last Stand at the Cinegore by Libba Bray 2.5/5
This was my first encounter with Libba Bray... and it was oddly intriguing and weird. Not my cup of tea but I still enjoyed it.

Sick Pleasure by Francesca Lia Block 2/5
This story just did nothing for me, I was so close to DNFing as soon as I realised all the names were abbreviated to A or L or M. It took away any connection I could get with any of the characters, de personified them in a way.

In Ninety Minutes, Turn North by Stephanie Perkins 3/5
I wanted to love this, but I didn't. North and Marigolds story from MTLGTM was one of my favourites, but it didn't have the same magic here.

'Souvenirs by Tim Federle 3/5
I like Tim's writing, I liked it in the Great American Whatever, I just don't love it. It's a cute enough M/M romance, the characters are interesting but something always falls short for me with his stories.

Inertia by Veronica Roth 5/5
OK I loved this one. It's sci-fi!!! A Sci-fi futuristic romance. Now where's the rest of it? I want a full size novel of this world.

Love is the Last Resort by Jon Skovron 4/5
What fell that tiny bit short for me with this one is there are too many characters to keep track of. It took me a lot of concentration to keep up with who was who and who liked who and then who ended up with who. Brain hurts! But a good story that just needed another 20 pages to help learn who everyone was.

Good Luck and Farewell by Brandy Colbert 4/5
This is a great background F/F romance featuring POC's. The main relationship that develops is M/F and kind of predictable from when they first met.

Brand New Attraction by Cassandra Clare 4/5
I'm kind of ashamed to admit it, but this is my first Cassandra Clare encounter too. And I freaking loved it! I don't care what anyone says about the romance not being enough for a romance anthology. I loved the dark circus with the demons and the magic of it all.

A Thousand Ways This Could Go Wrong by Jennifer E. Smith 5/5
I loved this in every way. I love that the summer camp is inclusive of autistic children. I love the way that the love interest has aspergers and the "I had no idea that you had Asperger's then, and I still couldn't stop thinking about you. So why would anything be different now?" mentality

The Map of Tiny Perfect Things by Lev Grossman 4/5
The premise of this is fantastic, time has stopped and everyone is living the same day exactly the same way over and over again. Except for Mark and Margaret who live the same day but have the choice of what to do and where to go still. The search for miracles in everyday life was a great touch to a sad story.
