Really uninterested in most of the stories. Just readable I guess you could say.

Would reread before a visit across the pond

A great collection of no-frills ghost stories set around the English countryside. The final third of the book is non-fiction travelogue. Great anthology.

A rather boring read. Standard ghost stories. No scares at all

Absolutely fantastic book. Everything was good. More than that, it felt like a lot of the old ghost stories but new and interesting. That was just awesome.
They Flee From Me That Sometime Did Me Seek by Sarah Perry was good and kind of horrifying.
Mr. Lanyard's Last Case by Andrew Michael Hurley was good and kind of brutal.
The Bunker by Mark Haddon was not what I expected. It seems to be a lot more of a science-fiction story than a ghost story.
Foreboding by Kamila Shamsie was good and also a bit brutal.
Never Departed More by Stuart Evers was good. In real life, I'd never be able to stand someone like her, too emotional and impractical.
The Wall by Kate Clachy was good and just perfect, the way you reach the end and realize the story is different than you though.
As Strong as Death by Jeanette Winterson was also really good. Sweet too.
Mrs Charbury at Eltham by Max Porter wasn't one I liked a whole lot. I felt the narrator was pretty unsympathetic and I didn't like her.
