Maybe I'm just really into trashy romance novels recently but I fucking loved this book. It feels like this is what a condensed version of JLA's From Blood and Ash would have been without
It was interesting coming to this after having read A Touch of Darkness because the writing style was so much different and engaging. To me it seems like Scarlett St. Clair really found her voice in this story, and I can't wait to read the second one in December!

Additionally, for enemies-to-lovers this was very insta-lovey (yes there are ~reasons~ But still).
I like the Hades and Persephone series but I do not think I will be continuing this one.

Isolde is a straight up bad bitch and I love her. The chemistry between her and Adrian is to die for 🔥 I was living for every time she did something crazy and he just nodded and went along with it. That is literally my definition of relationship goals (probably not healthy, I know 🤣). Seeing Adrian go from this dominant and imposing ruler to a tender, caring husband was jarring at times but it kept things lively.
I’m so used to the stereotypical alpha hole and brat female so this was a refreshing change of pace! I loved the focus on explicit consent and the ability to withdraw said consent at any time. I wish more romance book did this. This is consent done right!! Now…how long until the next book??
