Isolde de Lara's world is ravaged by vampires. When the vampire king, Adrian Aleksandr Vasiliev, asks for her hand in marriage, her father immediately rejects it. However, Isolde knows this is the best decision for her people. As she travels to the vampire's kingdom, she finds herself strangely drawn to him. 

I absolutely LOVED this book. Enemies to lovers perfection. I love the fact that Isolde is not afraid to stand up for herself, shes such a badass. 

I must admit, the writing isn't the best,  but goddam is it fun. I was able to lose myself in this story and read it in one sitting. Also, Adrian is so hot!!! Hes the -hurt her and ill kill you- type of guy. 
I also really enjoyed the side character and their relationships, so cute.
So sexy and fun!

 Vampires, court intrigue and witches who may or may not be on the side of good. This is a solid romance with fantasy elements with enough worldbuilding to work. Since I enjoyed it so much, I have a sinking feeling that no one else in my local Indie’s bookclub will have enjoyed it. I popped right out to purchase the sequel and am in the middle of it now.

I was definitely not prepared for the sex content. While not far from reality for someone who is dealing with everything that Isolde is it was quite prevalent throughout. There is a lot of trauma, mystery, blood and violence. Not for the light of heart. Isolde is quite reactive, stabby and arrogant at times. Adrian is cold collected and logical unless it involves her then he submits almost without hesitation.
