This book is definitely outside what I usually read and I found it incredibly stupid, but that’s part of its appeal. It’s a silly romance with heavy fanfic inspiration, a regular part of Hazelwood’s works. I would definitely recommend this read if you’re looking for something easy and lighthearted, there’s nothing new here but still an incredibly fun story!

This was a fun book and I enjoyed reading it. I liked the romance and I loved the friendship between Misery and Serena. The Fantasy and Worldbuilding fell a bit flat to me and the plot twists were quite predictable. I like Alis writing style and because of that I had a great time but I do understand why people would not like this book.
That the protagonists are mates is so obvious from the moment they first meet but somehow our protagonist keeps being in denial. This leads to some funny moments but is also unrealistic because it is made SO obvious and pretty much hinted at by every character ever.

The story was fun and I liked the mystery aspect of it but the conclusion just happened so quickly I felt like a lot of things were just left unexplained. I wish we could have gone a bit more in depth about this. And it would have been fun if they found out about all this on their own and not through some villain monologue info dump at the end. If this book was longer and we got more worldbuilding and explanations I would have liked it more. But since this is first and foremost a romance and not a fantasy I do understand it.
I was worried about it being about Werwolfs because I'm not really a fan of those but the whole pack thing was quite sweet.
The knot thing however...? That was weird and I don't particularly feel like reading werewolf smut ever again.
(But if she writes a book about Serena and Koen I might...)

All in all if you like Ali Hazelwood and you're looking for a romance book you will probably like this one too. But if you're looking for a Werewolf and Vampire Fantasy book with a focus on  worldbuilding and conflicts, maybe this is not what you're looking for.

This was mid for me and I'm disappointed! I thought this was going to be cool and a cool genre mashup, but instead it just felt underdeveloped in both the fantasy and romance of it all. I didn't feel like I cared much for the characters, and the plot felt dumb. How are you going to fade to black on the fight scene? I'm not even a fight girlie and I was disappointed in that. Either way, this was not that remarkable for me and that was a bit of a bummer.

The romance was very cliche and predictable, but the mystery was fun
