Monica Arya does it again. I have been so excited since she announced the release of this book following my love of The Girl In The Reflection. The backdrop of Charleston in her newest release, Shades of Her, creates the perfect dichotomy between quaint and safe slow southern life and the home of a twisted serial killer and stalker. The twists and teases come fast and steady until the last page. The main character, Sage, a former Miss USA turned stay-at-home mom, has a flighty past and more secrets than the south has “yes ma’am’s” and “no sirs.” They say keep your enemies close…but what if you don’t know who they are? I was captivated through the last sentence. Also, two words: fur coat #iykyk

Absolutely mind blown, never would of seen that ending coming at all! Kept me interested from the beginning! Loved the way you kept the suspense going! I wish I could give this more than 5 stars! I don’t suggest walking I suggest running right now to Amazon and preordering this book!!!!!

Think: She’s gotta have it with a little obsession vibes… This dark romantic thriller was an explosion of lust and murder and I was here for it! The back to back, unpredictable twists reminded me of Shanora Williams’ book, The Perfect Ruin and The Perfect Marriage by G Rose. Just when you think everything is over & done, there’s more.
The story is full of unlikeable characters doing unlikely ish, but that only added to the entertainment factor! I was so sick of Sage’s poor choices and also the low self image she had. She did many foul things because she didn’t feel she deserved more.
The steamy scenes were tantalizing and would definitely fog up a mirror🔥There were so many great quotes throughout the story as well! And I need to note that “the coat” gave me literal goosebumps. Oh so Creepy!

I never thought I'd be interested in a book marketed as a "steamy thriller," but this one pleasantly surprised me! Here's what I loved!

While I did find Sage, the protagonist, to be a bit unbearable, I was still rooting for her. She made questionable decisions throughout the book, but I still found myself wanting her to rise above the adversities she faced.
The twists in this book were cleverly put together. I won't give too much away, but you definitely won't see them coming, that's for sure!
In conclusion, I will forever be a devoted reader for any thrillers that @monicaaryaauthor publishes! Many thanks to her for providing me a copy of this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Dark, cringeworthy, sexy! Shades of Her is a domestic thriller perfect for fans of steam and scream.
Sage left behind her deep, dark secrets and a very twisted addiction in New York. Now she lives in a picture perfect neighborhood with a picture perfect family. But secrets always seem to come unburied, and obsessions never really go away.
Unnerving texts, eerie flower deliveries, and some very hot sex, reveal the many shades of Sage. And when murders related to her start to pile up, every character becomes a suspect. This is suspense with a heavy dose of spice and plenty of OMG moments.
Indie author, Arya, delivers another fast paced, quick read. The characters are multilayered, but none are truly likeable. And I think that along with the extra (unnecessary) twist at the end took away a bit of my enjoyment. But Arya’s writing is highly readable. She manages to make me cringe while also compelling me to see what will happen next. I’ve never read another book with a sex addiction premise, and this one seemed well researched and creating a unique storyline.
