A nice little story. The monsters are conveniently getting defeated very easily after a long, fruitless search though, so hopefully they step up the stakes a little.
This was just a bit better than the last one as Lizzie's secrets finally come out. A new witch for the wild magic comes but just as he arrives, a skin stealing spirit is killing people and so catching up with the new witch

I like this series but felt that this was probably the weakest of the books. For me, there was too much (repetitive) description of weaving spells and not enough character interaction or plot. I also found the soucouyant mythology confusing and difficult to follow given there were

This is by far my favourite book out of this series yet! Sadly I didn’t realize it continued past this one and I don’t have the next books in the series which is a shame because I’m dying to know how the story goes after the end this book had. What I enjoyed most about this one is that it was pure, non stop action from start to finish. I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through, anxiously turning the pages to find out what craziness would happen next!
"that hardly seems reasonable-"

"you'd say that if you had a leg cut off and were spurting blood everywhere."

Page turner
Keri Arthur is awesome. I loved this book as much as the others in this series. The only thing I wish for is more progression with the relationship between Lizzie and aiden.

I liked this book better than the previous one, as we finally learn about Liz's backstory and the action scenes with a supernatural being killing people were pretty cool. I also liked Monty, the new head witch. Unfortunately, I expected Liz's story to be a little darker than it turned out to be and Liz and Aiden really need to talk more about their relationship. This is the 4th book where we are told that werewolves won't form life bonds with non-werewolves, but it's pretty clear that Liz and Aiden are meat to be, so this whole "forbidden love" thing is just so contrived.
