A solid installment in the Nora Kelly/ Swanson series. Interesting plot. Well written. Fantastic pace. Brilliant characterization.
Once nice thing about Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child's books is that they doesn't dwell endlessly on the events of previous books. Here, Nora Kelley's adventures in previous books is simply mentioned in passing, where it makes sense, such as telling readers new to the series, that archaeologist Nora and FBI agent Corrie Swanson worked together previously.
Nora is, once again, unhappily engulfed in office politicking at the Academy of Natural Sciences, and so is thrown into a search for "something" at a dig in Area 51. The science fictional aspects of the plot avoid the usual little green men, and the action sequences are as realistic as they are fast-paced. The archaeology is (as always) spot-on.
This is a great read, but since it's a large book, and a page-turner, you'll need to carve out a good bit of time to devote to the reading... but it's well worth the time.
I won a copy of this book! #GoodreadsGiveaway. (I would have read it regardless!)

Nora Kelly is an archeologist in the American Southwest that is suddenly working on the Roswell crash site. Hired by eccentric billionaire Lucus Tappan, Kelly is thrust into a world of the unbelievable.
I started the Nora Kelly series on a whim and was excited to read the third installment. Unfortunatley it was less than impressive. I am on the fence for reading the next installment.

Spoiler
Maybe because I like my bad guys to be actual humans, this just didn't do it for me. The secret organization of the government was intriguing but it actually being aliens, I was done.

A fast paced book with a decent story, a good read for lovers of conspiracy theories.
I can find no fault into the way this book is written. As always, the Gentleman bring solid writing and storytelling to the page and to the tales of Corrie and Nora. That being said, it's not my favorite. I think it's most likely the theme of the book. It's not my cup of tea. I look forward to the next installment though.

This is very good, as I expect from the authors.
The Southwest continues to show that it is full of mystery, this time a bit more recent than the previous books of Corrie and Nora.
There's speculation on Roswell and Los Alamos, and there's a section where just as you think "oh no" the plot throttles up even more than you expect it to.
There's a thing in thrillers where the bad guys get a deserved punishment and that's very true here, the punishment for the dude that's the most at fault for being an evil dude is pretty righteous.
Very fun, and a nice way to throw some positive things to Nora who has had a really heinous fictional life.

The first two books of this trilogy were *so* much better. I mean, really - Roswell/Area 51? Sigh...
