Preston & Child are always great for an easy and intriguing read. I wish the exciting ending had been more than 30 pages. The pacing was steady, I never felt bored, and it brought me out of a slump. I do wish there had been more character development and more depth to Lime and his background.

Easy read and a page turner but not much substance.  I liked the premise, digging in New Mexico, trying to unearth UFO remnants.  But the counter group was never really fully developed, and then there were under 100 pages left and everything felt rushed.

I don't know why, but I just could not get into this book, no matter how much I love Preston and Child!
After 3 months and not making it past chapter 24, I've given up for now. I'm not sure if it's because I've been into different genres recently or bc the characters just aren't grabbing me but I've decided to dnf this for now and will probably pick up another day and update the review at that time.

Why 2 and not 1? Bc I love them and will still happily read them again - Cabinet of Dr Leng is already on my tbr shelf
