Ooo this was so full of love and the pacing (while slow at times) was much better, making this book a tie with the first of the series for my favorite. Having so many characters from the previous books all interacting made for a really fun, comforting adventure with a really satisfying peak in action. I honestly wasn’t expecting a fourth book but hey I’ll take it after that cliffhanger at the end ;)

Listen. Who says weddings can't be paired with a coup? Kianthe and Reyna are so busy! They are planning a wedding, plotting the downfall of the evil queen, playing with the CUTEST BABY DRAGONS EVER, and navigating familial expectations and difficulties. I loved this!! And was NOT expecting how it was resolved. Another brilliant installment, I can't wait for the next!!

Tea you at the Altar is the third book in the Tome and Tea series. This book returns to following the two main protagonists from the first book as they prepare to get married and overthrow the Queen (on the same day…..like you do). This book keeps with the others in being very cozy, very queer-friendly, and maybe slightly too heavy on the pun-based humor.

Overall I enjoyed this book, although it started off pretty slow for me. I know it’s a bit of a contradiction to want more action in a “cozy” story but here we are. It definitely got better toward the end! It’s possible I just need to be in the right mindset to properly enjoy these stories, or maybe I was ruined by Legends and Lattes as a perfect example. Anyway, the fourth (and I think last) book is due out in August and it’s already on my hold list at the library….but I think the completionist in me is a decent part of the motivation to finish it out.
