Reyna and Kianthe make planning a wedding and a royal coup d'état look easy.

Because planning a wedding is just too easy our lovely ex-Queen's Guard and Mage of Ages team up with Locke, the Queen's spymaster to overthrow Queen Tilaine. For their plan to work they bring in characters from previous books (including Bobbie, Serina, Dreggs, and members of the town of Tawney), but we also meet Tessa and her bodyguard James. Oh and Kianthe's parents make an appearance while trying to set Kianthe up with her childhood best friend (they don't seem to care that Kianthe is ENGAGED). What could possibly go wrong?

I'm not going to lie I missed Bobbie and Serina so I do wish there was more of them, but I was still excited they (and the dreaded pirate Dreggs) showed up again. The entire Tomes and Tea series is full of representation, but as someone on the asexual spectrum it was extremely refreshing to have Tessa be aromantic and asexual. Don't get me wrong, I love a good romance, but Tessa was a breath of fresh air. Also not going to lie I was fully invested in the Coralcrest short story at the end and if we don't see those characters again at some point I'm going to be extremely sad.

This series is quickly becoming my comfort series. For times when it seems like the world is burning and we all want to overthrow the government, this book is perfect.

It’s the wedding of the wifetime and if that pun was worthy of a heartfelt groan then this third and second last book in the Tomes & Tea series is probably just what you need. Whilst I think you could read this one alone I would recommend reading the earlier novels  Can't Spell Treason Without Tea and A Pirate's Life for Tea as most of these characters have been introduced in these earlier novels.

Our protagonists Kianthe and Reyna are working on making their wedding memorable and its not just the whole town that they have befriended, but the pirates, dragons, Queensguard, a lost heir, family and old friends.

Can it still be considered cosy fantasy when the story will involve dethroning a queen? Also I hope the idea of a wedding sword catches on.

Thoroughly enjoyable if you enjoyed the two books but it ends on a cliff hanger,
with the newly crowned queen Reyna Kidnapped
, for the final novel in the series Alchemy and a Cup of Tea due to be published later this year.

I liked this book, but I didn’t love it. I adore these characters and I loved seeing them continue with their friends and family. However, I didn't love this one as much as the other too. With the whole book being about a wedding, I thought it was silly we didn’t get to see the vows.
