I did really enjoy this, I do however wish we got more backstory. It feels like the lore of this world runs so deep and we’ve only been shown the surface level things you’d need to know to get through this book alone.

However, enjoyable, fairly quick read.

Though the characters felt a little flat, the story was interesting and had some unique elements. Mostly this was a "going on a journey" book, with some fantasy elements. Unfortunately, the audiobook was read by a narrator with a poor grasp of Spanish, so mispronunciations were frequent. Maybe that should be expected, since the author is British, writing about a place (a fictionalized version of the Canary Islands) she only visited once while on vacation.

It’s not that good. I find it random and that it gives too much info on certain parts and not enough on others. It was kind of random of all the things she put together for an adventurous book. Probs won’t read it again. It was a more been-there-done-that kind of book
