I really loved this turn in Darling Ranch.

Colt’s animosity bleeds through the page but always with an undercurrent of ‘why him?’. Noah King gets under his skin like no other. They compete for work both being farriers in the same town. The dialogue between them runs with and undercurrent of tension that breaks into something more.

I enjoyed how they both worked through their attraction to men in the book, the carrot scene however was hilarious and possibly would have had some medical professionals screaming.

I enjoyed their banter and the book was still light, even as emotional as it was. Noah is the solid presence whenever Colt questions. His name choice was pretty prefect the for the character.

I enjoyed reading all about the goings on a happenings around Darling and the shoein’ was excellent.

The epilogue was lovely and on brand for both of them. Looking forward to reading all about Lawson.

I didn’t really enjoy this read. For me enemies to lovers only really hits if the emotional change happens first. This was really just spice driven and I didn’t get the emotional engagement. They were so out of sync and I didn’t find the transition believable, especially after the whole backstory is revealed. I do still agree ES is a good author and the book is well written hence the 3 stars even though I didn’t find the story itself that enjoyable
