guys this book is genuinely one of the most funny books i’ve ever read (granted, though, i don’t read many funny books) but still the dialogue of all the characters was just hilarious . this book is a romcom and oh did the the author DELIVER on that statement. also this has to be one of the best slow burns i’ve read bc it was actually slowwww burn . there’s 73 chapters in the book so uhh yeah you can imagine the joy i felt when the main characters finally gave into each other 😭. before i started this book, i looked up reviews and every one was draggging this book but i LOVED it idk . maybe bc the book was rlly long (again, 73 chapters + epilogue 😭) and they just weren’t used to reading long ass books like this . i am tho cuz of wattpad purrr , and i enjoyed every moment of this book . the characters were kinda old (late 30s, mid 40s) for how i imagined them in my mind  , so i just imagined them like early 30s instead lol . anyways— read this book , it’s so funny and cute and the smut scenes had me gasping for air!

I dunno why but it just really put me off. It started off great, I was eager to keep reading but it just became so sexual and abusive. Like, the guy was a complete asshole but it was romanticized. I also personally didn’t like
how prideful the girl was, not accepting any of the money at all. It could’ve put her father in trouble.

Just overall, the characters were terrible especially for their age.

Another home run! I’m a big fan of Lucy Score’s style and this story was another amazing one. I love Ally, she’s such a strong, independent woman who isn’t afraid to open her mouth and stand up for herself, but she isn’t without flaws. Her past made it hard to put faith and trust in others, to decide when it’s okay to ask for help and when you’re the only one who can handle something? Always difficult!
Dominic, the grumpy boss idiot, was amazing! Be still my heart! Also definitely not flawless and haunted by his past, or more his father’s, went through his own struggles, and even though it took him a while to realise what had to be done, he got there in the end!
The bonus epilogue was everything to wrap up the story so well. Them having a family that included adopted children shows very clearly that a family is more than just blood, and i loved it! Also the way Ally and Dominic are raising their children is so important, to teach them about consent. These conversations start at home and I’m so glad to see it in fiction!

Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
