***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***

This is a great series by Melissa Haag! Each book has a new story, but they all connect through the characters.

Michelle... She is running from her past and the crazy man who wants to control her gift for his gain. Only he is not nice to her... exactly the opposite by keeping her locked up and when he is around, if she says the wrong thing, he hits and chokes her. She is finally able to get away and just keeps going. She gets a weird feeling when stopping for a break at a dinner from Emmitt.

Emmitt.... Love him! Totally swoon worthy book boyfriend. He is an absolute gentleman who knows Michelle is meant to be with him, but he doesnt force anything or move too fast. He actually givers her quite a bit of space when it seems like she needs it. I am so happy when Michelle decides to go on a date with Emmitt. Lets just say it was about time!

Overall, this book was a great read! I actually think I like this book better than the first in this series. Cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

Is this second companion book to the Judgement series, we get to see the story of Michelle and Emmitt from EMMITT's point of view. *sqeals*

I loved Emmitt in "(Mis)Fortune," and seeing how devoted he was to Michelle from the start, and just how much being 'patient' was killing him (HA! Poor Em), I fell in love all over again.

I skipped back and forth between this book and "(Mis)Fortune" to see the scenes in side-by-sid comparison, and I have to say, I was just a bit disappointed. I noticed how little variance there was between the two books, many things that WEREN'T dialogue being repeated almost exactly. This bummed me out just a bit, since I was looking forward to a completely fresh perspective. But if anything, it was only a minor annoyance, since there WAS much from Emmitt's point of view that I hadn't seen in Michelle's telling.

Overall, I'm very pleased with how this book went. It may be a while till I'm able to pick up the next Judgement book, but I have complete confidence that it will be well worth the wait for me.

It doesn’t really give any new information about the story, just insights on Emmit’s thoughts and feelings as his relationship with Michelle evolves. So it’s totally okay if you don’t want to read all these companion novellas unless you’re genuinely interested in knowing the story from the guys’ perspectives because it felt more like a reread of the main books in the series, with a little less information.

Wow! Is really all I can say! I loved reading Emmitt's POV. He is so caring and loving but also has a very protective side of him. From the get go all he wanted to do was protect Michelle and he did. He showed her how to trust and how to love. This book was amazing I highly recommend reading it. I have to say if you loved reading about Clay you will definitely love reading Emmitt's story!

I loved Emmitt!! Loving getting his side and getting more of Jim too!! Emmitt it the perfect protector hero!! All he wants is to protect his mate and his new family and he is so patient with Michelle and her brothers, making them feel safe and loved. Love getting both sides of the story makes this series so much better!!

ON REREAD:
4 stars — So while I enjoyed Michelle’s book more the second time around, I was a bit more frustrated with Emmitt’s POV on reread. I ran across the same problem of completely forgetting what Michelle was thinking at certain parts, and so I would have to flip back to (Mis)fortune to satisfy my curiosity, and that got tiring really quickly. I didn’t have to do that, but I have an obsession with knowing everything. My hubby will tell you. He thinks it’s hilarious.

As with the first time I read it, I LOVED the extra bits of depth we got of Jim. GAWD I hope his mate is the last girl….I really want that to happen.

So yeah. Still loving it, just was a bit more distracted reading this one the second go round.

4.5 stars — After reading Clay’s Hope, I had a better idea of what to expect from these companion series books, so I had the right expectations going in…and therefore I think I enjoyed myself more. I knew I wasn’t necessarily going to get a lot of background about Emmitt, or glimpses into his past. And while I would still love that, I really did enjoy what I did get for what it was. A glimpse into the exact events of (Mis)fortune, but from Emmitt’s POV. So we got to see all of his thoughts and feelings and what was going on in the background, mainly conversations between Emmitt, Jim and Nana Wini.

I already fell in love with Emmitt in (Mis)fortune, so this book just helped to solidify those feelings for me. He was exactly as he was portrayed in the first book, though I enjoyed how much he struggled to be patient with Michelle…not that he wanted to push her, just that we got to see his level of need and confusion.

And as always, his relationship with Jim was hilarious. I enjoyed getting a bit of a deeper look into who Jim was, why he was the comic relief, and how he saw his place in the world.

I will say that my memory is crap though, b/c I would read parts where Emmitt is confused about what is going on in Michelle’s brain, and EVEN THOUGH I JUST READ THE DAMN BOOK, even I was having a hard time remembering what was going through her head at any one time (except, you know, the pivotal parts).

So with two successes, and given I’m an alternative POV loving girl (particularly for a series I’m in love with), I will definitely be keeping up with reading this companion series until the end. But now, since the 3rd one isn’t out yet, do I read the Bethi’s book, then wait for Luke’s Dream…or do I read the rest of the Judgement of the Six that’s out? Decisions decisions…

This book begins with Emmitt finding is mate, but Michelle has two young boys to take care of, and it seems she's on the run. Oh, and she doesn't know what he really is or anything about him.

He must try hard to gain her trust before he can try to push for more, but that proves harder than he originally thought.

This book was okay. It was a little annoying at times because it made it seem like Michelle wasn't a great person, but it later explains it a little more, but it was still frustrating.

It was interesting to read the story from Emmitt's point of view, however, it was also annoying how much the elder seemed to control what Emmitt did. Other than that, I liked it and I look forward to more.

I really like Emmitt and Michelle but honestly I skimmed this book. The plot is basically the same with little differences. With other authors male POVs you get different side plots and interactions but not really with these companion novels.
