i read about 140 pages in 3 days, and then had no motivation to pick it up again and it’s been 17 days. this just isn’t something for me & usually i like slow burns, i think i just didn’t vibe with the narrator and had no interest in the MMC

Oh my gosh, this book. The epitome of don't judge a book by its cover. I'm not sure when or how this one ended up on my TBR, but I'm so happy that it did.

I loved everything about it. I laughed so much. Honestly, this book was so much fun from start to finish. Faith is quirky and headstrong and hilarious in all the best ways.

Aron, as a good that's been grounded to earth essentially, is clueless and entirely arrogant. The banter and conversations that happened between the two was just to die for.

This book is long, and I was really worried that I would lose interest considering there's not as much plot to the story as I normally go for. But, at no point did I even want to put this book down, let alone did I get bored.

The supporting characters were great, although I feel like they kinda stuck in the background. This book really and truly is devoted to Aron and Faith. The very large majority of it it just the two of them, and I wouldn't have had it any other way.

this was great

I’ll be honest: I wasn’t expecting too much from this series. IBP and her dragon series were very repetitive and didn’t really feel very new. This book was so interesting. There was minimal smut and it was not insta love. I really enjoyed it.

➵ portal fantasy
➵ gods
➵ slow burn
➵ possessive mmc

Surprisingly, this was not bad at all. I'm obsessed with portal fantasy!! I was hesitant to pick this up at first because it's by the same author who wrote that blue alien series, but it was pretty good. Although, I hate all the rapey-ness of the world that the fmc ends up in. But maybe that's realistic? Not everyone can end up in Narnia.

The romance was cute, very slow burn, but I really enjoyed that. It's definitely not just smut, and you can tell that ample care went into character development and world building. I hear many people complaining about the length of the book, but I thought it was fine. The plot concerning the gods was genuinely very interesting and original. The story kept me engaged for all 600+ pages!

Wow this book is really good. Super long, but it never dragged. Vocabulary wise it's still a YA like IPB, but in terms of character depth and plot, this is solidly an epic fantasy. Great balance, the book shows a different side to Dixon and her writing abilities.

Aaron is a jackass but it kind of works for him. It doesn't come off as douche-y. And Faith is great, a lead woman who readers can enjoy getting to know. Despite the fact that almost all the characters are men, there's even a solid women's friendship that forms.

This started out soooooo good but at a certain point I just lost all motivation to finish it. It started feeling repetitive and long. Kind of just fizzled out.
