Buckle up. Ik heb dit boek geprobeert maar dominantie tonen door iemand op dr mond te pakken?
Hagelslag terwijl dat héél NL/BE is en het in Amerika afspeelt?
Engelse woorden gebruiken (ounces bijv.) Én een verwarrend proloog?

Het was een beetje veel. En er kwamen steeds meer namen bij. Lore vind ik ook geen leuk karakter en Athena is gewoonweg irritant.

Helaas een DNF.

I’m so glad I’ve finally read this, and it did not disappoint. I love Greek Mythology and I loved The Darkest Minds, so I had very high expectations for this book.

I loved the characters and the story. It kept me entertained, and I had to keep on reading. The twists were good; I didn’t really see them coming!
I’m a little sad it doesn’t seem like this will be a series, but I’m happy that Lore and Castor got a happy ending.

I think I might have enjoyed this book if I had read it when I originally received it in an OwlCrate box, but reading it now? I had to force myself to get through it, which took forever. There was more violence and gore than I was expecting, and at times it felt like there were just too many characters. It was just ok, I wouldn't recommend or ever read it again, and I'm not sure that I'd go out of my way to read anything else by this author.

A dark, grim re-imagining of Greek mythology which explored the brutal side of both the godly, immortal figures and the plain old humans with their burning ambition. The plot was intriguing; watching the characters unravel thread after thread and often ending up with more questions than answers. The full cast of characters were well-developed, though frustratingly bad decision makers (someone had to advance the plot, l suppose). The ending felt slightly rushed,
and a bit jarringly sunshine-and-rainbows compared to the previous fifty-odd chapters
.

the pacing in this story was not very good. extremely (excruciatingly) slow for the first half and very choppy in the second half. also the timeline of the flashbacks and backstory was pretty confusing. i had to rely heavily on the blurb to understand the concept as it was never clearly explained in the text. the romance was cute but kinda felt like an afterthought. the plot twists weren't very effective because i didn’t know what was going on in the first place. the story definitely improved in the second half and the characters were compelling enough for me to keep reading! all in all, great concept but execution could've been better.
