The first section of this book was phenomenal though the second half was underwhelming and felt like a cheap way to finish up the book.

I hate that Jasmine’s pregnancy was such a main part of the plot though I’m not shocked as the death of his son was such a main catalyst for the behaviors of our M/C

This book seemed to revel in torture for torture sake. Having torture or violence in a book can have a purpose but this book seemed to go beyond that point.

The first 3 Chapters of this book made me have to put it down for a minute. However, after reading to part two, I couldn't put the book down. I didnt understand why this book was so well liked or popular until the end. There is so much though provoking and interesting topics to discuss that I realized at the end. 

It was definitely a tough read, with so many horrific scenes. Read at your own will! I thought I could take it and eventually I did but man chapter 3.

This book filled me with rage, disgust, sadness, thrill, and a whole other slew of emotions. Overall, the commentary on society, capitalism, grief, and dehumanization is striking. The prose in the translation is beautiful once you get used to it. That being said, some of the metaphors are a bit basic, and the storytelling might have been more effective as a short story. Then again, I wish some parts were more flushed out like

his grief over his child or father
