I think this is one of the books I'm not smart enough to understand upon reading it for the first time.

I enjoyed the author's writing style and I would say the pacing of this book is pretty good. I think it would make a great movie. The ending of it left me sort of like ???? but as an introduction to body horror, or whatever it is they call it, I think this was overall pretty good.

Holy F*** what did I just read. The most intense book I’ve ever read. I appreciate the message but I feel sick to my stomach. Makes me depressed about humans and also makes me never want to eat meat again.

Interesting concept, but unremarkable overall. The author seemed more focused on describing violent and gruesome scenes than with developing a plotline and characters. Not my kinda horror/thriller.

Honestly it was a beautiful read, but so incredibly dark. I'm already depressed by humanity as a whole, and this book was making it worse. The story is incredible, the writing is top notch, and the story itself is worth telling, but my brain isn't in a good place to process it right now. Maybe someday, but not right now.
