Horror is one of my favourite genres and I can handle a lot when it comes to confronting stuff. But even for me this was absolutely too sickening to continue - maybe because of how horrifically real it seemed. I'm a vegetarian and have been nearly all my life and I don't think I need this book to tell me how horrific factory farming is. I don't think it's a bad book necessarily, but I do wonder how anyone who experiences empathy will be able to get through it without being genuinely traumatised.
