I was pretty blown away by this one! There is is a lot to unpack with it. In Savor It, we watch Fisher Lange struggle with burnout over his job, the loss of his sister, and his new role as guardian of his niece. We watch as he gets sent across the country from New York City to Spunes, Oregon, to help open a new restaurant for his boss and to get to know the people of the town to help create a beautiful new menu!
In comes, Sage Byrd. Sage is the towns golden girl. A lover of plants and animals. Who is in charge of looking after the home where Fisher and his Niece, Indy, will be staying for the summer. Sage very quickly forms a friendship with the two as she finds ways to distract them from their troubles. Also as she introduces the two to the entire town- including her weird ex Ian. (Weird is an understatement. There are a lot of words I’d normally use to describe this man, but I’d rather conserve my energy for someone more worthy.)
I appreciated the small representation of characters going to therapy. We don’t see that often in books and when we do I get so excited!
I ended up giving this 4 stars! It’s full of puns, and good times. There were a couple of things that happened to some characters that I truly just didn’t care about, and I wish we had more time to see Indy and Fisher together as they worked through their relationship. Overall though, I really enjoyed this one and highly recommend!

I really loved this book. I think the point of view of the main character is something that we should all try to keep in mind.
Moderate: Death of parent
Minor: Bullying
This was one of my anticipated reads for 2024, because the premise really drew me in. Who doesn’t love a small town, grumpy x sunshine, healing romance?
I loved Sage, because for the most part, she seemed so sure of herself. Despite having lost her parents at a young age and being raised by her brothers, not to mention having dated a guy who left much to be desired, she’s resourceful and self-sufficient and kind to everyone she meets.
Everyone’s probably lost someone they loved through death at some point or another, but for Fisher, the death of his sister coincided with the time his work life started going downhill. Yes, I could see the pattern. On top of the grief that’s still fresh, he’s also dealing with dissatisfaction in something that he thought was his dream, which I am very familiar with. One of my misconceptions about adulthood was that I was supposed to have it all figured out, and I’m still trying to tell myself that’s not the case.
I did think that the last 15% was a little rushed, but overall this was a very sweet read that really made me feel all the feels.

this book made me cry. while it was a fun little summer romance read, the characters had depth that I don’t find in other romances.
it wasn’t exactly a romance/smut based book. the characters each had their own struggles with acceptance and grief among other things. it was really refreshing. the writing made them feel like my friends and I knew these people which is probably why it made me cry lol.
I really loved this book and will be continuing reading others the author releases
