Idk I felt like everybody had an ulterior motive to hate or not to hate, to love or not to love, and I didn’t really understand the dynamic between the families and all the drama. Also, super slow paced. I was expecting to love this book because of all the amazing reviews but not really.

🎧 This might be the Olivie Blake book I’ve enjoyed the least. The relationships were described as deep and powerful, but I never truly felt them. I liked Lev and Sasha, and the whole Romeo and Juliet vibe did make the insta-lovey side of things feel a bit more intentional, but it still felt off. I just didn’t get attached.
That said, I didn’t hate it. I enjoyed parts of the intrigue and the dynamic between the sisters. But overall, it just wasn’t my favorite.

…this book was a huge disappointment, the romance was boring and i wasn’t rooting for either of the couples. The plot was very stupid and didn’t make sense, the mash up of russian folklore and witches was distracting. Also why did they die and come back like huh!?? anyways don’t bother this book is trash

Miss communication family drama for the ages. Nothing quite like a Romeo and Juliet retelling where you can’t quite tell who the tragedy is going to end on and I THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. Something about this women’s writing just absorbs me and she writes love in such an intricate way.
