The fact that I really enjoy Dan Brown takes a bit away from my snobby persona.
Also, I love that these books are definitely written for the 60+ set.

There was only one thing I didn't predict as this book went along, and it wasn't that big a reveal affecting the plot at all. Very formulaic following his earlier books.
This took me a bit to finish not just because I’ve been busy but also because this book felt SO LONG. The delay of the announcement was killing me. I get that that was the big reveal but ughhh it was just detailed descriptions of buildings and honestly boring government activity that I feel did not need to be in there.
I liked the overall message of the ending, it was nice. Just could’ve been a shorter book. The one thing I really liked was the plot twist at the end, that was very good and not expected. I think that added a depth to the story which I appreciated but it just took so long to get there.
Overall, a fine story that just didn’t develop very well for my personal reading preference.

I had hoped this book would thrill me like its predecesors did a decade ago. However, 25% in and I feel like the only interesting questions raised (That I guess we can't really answer because we don't have the answer IRL yet, but a girl could hope the author would come up with something plausible) won't be answered. The philosophy\theories surrounding religion and science and history are what always have drawn me to this series - as books and as movies\series.
In short, I read 20 chapters waiting for an answer only for the person with the answer to get shot and killed.
This book also discusses AI and has some takes on new technology that I'm unsure about.
So it is a DNF for me.

Langdon’s explanation of the difference between codes and patterns on pages 601-603 was my favourite part of the book.
Another book from a man who denies atheism but finds religion too cringy. A seal on the heart of a man who thinks he can guess at the unseen
