I do not support JKR
Honestly all the adult characters are so annoying and low key horrible people. Also all the relationships I just don’t feel.

This is my first time making it all the way through the Harry Potter series! I feel like most of my desire to keep going this time around came from 1) feeling like I missed out on an entire fandom throughout my childhood and 2) finally getting to uncover all the spoilers first hand. While Rowling's writing certainly isn't terrible, I'm not sure if I would have been as drawn into the series as a whole without the external hype and imagery that I had of the early movies (I haven't watched all of the movies either... I know).
With the change of scenery, I was worried that I would lose the (literal) magic of the world but I think Rowling still managed to create the essence of her universe without the key locations we came to know (again, I don't know if this is due to the imagery that I already had in my head). I enjoy the darker tones that come in the later books too and it felt like the books grew with the audience that read it. Most of my boredom honestly came from Hermione as a character and the pacing in some areas that typical to Rowling's writings. There are long gaps where small tidbits happen in walls of filler content.
