Great writing overall, but I struggled to connect with the character Margot. She is painted broadly and it is hard to connect with her on an emotional level. Not one of Coates best.

This book was so stressful and gross, but in like a good way? Coates is really great at writing stuff that freak me out. It's to the point where I want to put the book down because I'm so scared that I'm having heart palpitations, but I can't stop because then I'd have to read the spooky stuff later. The tension in the story just builds and builds until it's almost impossible for me to be in that headspace. So the book does what it's supposed to do, and I love it.
