Solid 4 almost 5 stars. I loved the intensity of this book! I definitely had a vibe going, reading this book in the dark by candlelight - I was definitely spooked and on edge the entire time. I did find the ending to have a small plot hole - but one I'm definitely ok with overlooking because I really enjoyed the story and how Darcy portrayed such horrifying and enthralling scenes. I feel like this would be a good movie. It's also probably one of the scarier books I've read from Darcy so far.

The beginning was a little slow but once it picked up, it PICKED UP my goodness😳 I did not realize what I was getting into with this one as far as creepy-ness goes! If you like haunted house stories with lots of tension filled eerie moments then I definitely think you would enjoy this one.

Not my favorite Darcy Coates haunted house book, but the one that I found the most unsettling to listen to while re-rooting dolls at 3 am, with only my sleeping cat for company. It only moderately felt like characters weren't communicating solely to make the plot happen and not too much time was spent on making sure the main character actually stays and does the haunted house plot, which can drag on in a tiresome manner in some stories.

All of her books are kind of the same, however this one was a little bit different. I enjoyed reading it and I feel every chapter ends with a cliff hanger. If you like Darcy Coats read this book.
