I have so many questions.
How are they not including in hiring paperwork that new hires will be cursed?
How has the business not been sued by any employees that are cursed?
How has nobody thoroughly looked in the attic before?
HOW DID NOBODY NOTICE ROTTING BODIES IN THE BARRELS? But with the wine and fermenting process, I wanna know how likely it is the bodies would be preserved irl..
Why does losing AN EYEBALL IN A NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE make you want to "take on more work"? Kant is a masochist.

The Hull family legacy. I really enjoy Darcy Coates, she is one of my favorite authors, however, I gave this book a 4 star review as I felt this book was a bit drawn out. She keeps the mystery and suspense there, but a lot of drawn out information and it lacks the excitement to keep you drawn in. Once you get past that and the dark, creepy dead get inside the house the story moves along really fast and it's gripping. I had had a hard time putting it down as you feel what Margot is feeling and going through. Great book and I would recommend to anyone wanting a good spooky read for things that go bump in the night.

I really enjoyed this book, it was the first Darcy Coates book I've read. The only problem I had with it was the frequent mention of mouths, like she licked her teeth, it happened a little too often. Not enough to skip the book though, I thought the plot and character were good and I went into blind so everything was a surprise.

This is a real horror. It was one of the scariest, most grotesque stories I have ever read. Truly chilling. But it also felt like a love letter from a daughter to the parents she didn’t really know. I really loved the heartbreaking familial aspect of it, this went far beyond the reaches of typical childhood trauma and went back generations. I love how descriptive Darcy is with her writing and I truly believe she is one of the best horror authors out there. My only critique is that this was just a little too slow paced. Some parts felt a bit drawn out, but this was also my first audiobook and I really enjoyed it! Listening to horror versus reading horror is a totally different experience.

Not a good book to read when you live on dirt road and hear a lot of random noises through the night. I enjoyed it a lot, the reveal creeped me the hell out. I also spent 85% of the book trying to work out if Kant and Andrew were together
