DNF’d this only about 120 pages in. It just wasn’t grabbing my attention at all. And after the first book ended so well. I expected the excitement and drama in the last bit of book one to carry over but it felt like this one started from scratch.
And I just didn’t feel like climbing another mountain of 500 pages before stuff got interesting.
I’ll probably pick this up again later.

This was unbearably slow - nothing happened for 800 pages. I think House of Earth and Blood should’ve been a standalone because the series is getting a little chaotic for me. Not sure I want to read the third one with the world crossover

4.5 ⭐️

Not gonna lie… pretty disappointed after the last book. The story really dragged in this and the ending was honestly the only good part. They also dragged out the main couple getting together for no reason
fast-paced

Despite the fact that Sarah J Maas seems not to be able to produce a female protagonist that isn’t insufferable and Bryce’s commentary sometimes makes me grit my teeth alongside the fact that the entire world seems to revolve around her and her full breasts and ass, I genuinely really enjoyed this novel, perhaps even more than the first. The set of characters are ultimately very likeable and the world building is great. SPOILER ****I have not been as gobsmacked by anything as when the ACOTAR crossover came up, which is simultaneous really cool and very annoying as I am not a big ACOTAR fan.

It took me so long to finish this. I don’t know what it is with these books they just seem a lot harder for me to get through than any other SJM book. But wow, that ending. I was giggling and kicking my feet like a little girl

I'm done with this. I can't anymore.

DNF at 10% (which is saying something since I never DNF books)
