800 pages of set up and leaves on a cliff hanger :( no wonder it took me 4 months to read when ive finished other 800 page books in weeks :,)

Immediately had to start this after finishing House of Earth and Blood and was not disappointed!

I so badly wanted Hunt and Bryce to enjoy some happiness together, but of course that was unrealistic thinking. As they dive into the world of rebels and become tangled in the fight to bring down the Asteri, secrets are brought to life and characters are forced to embrace their new paths. Plus there’s the spice

I am not okay.

“Our love is stronger than time, greater than any distance. Our love spans across stars and worlds. I will find you again, I promise.”

This was INSANE. Sosososo much happened that I can't even remember it all, all I remember is that god damn ENDING!!!!! The amount of plot lines in this book is crazy, there is so many different stories to follow and people who could have their own books.

I am in love with Ruhn Danaan. That is the moral of my entire experience. He is all I want and all I deserve. I WANT RUHN DANAAN! Him and Day had me in the palm of their hands. She better fucking save them or there will be hell to pay. Their tension? Immaculate!

One thing that CC is so much better at than ACOTAR AND ToG is humor. I just really fucking love Bryce, she is everything. “If you’re looking for How Not to Be an Asshole, it’s shelved between Bye, Loser and Get the Fuck Out.”

Hunt and Bryce's relationship has so much depth and power, the way they interact and care for one another just leaves me a sobbing mess. “But wherever you’re headed when this life is over, Quinlan, that’s where I want to be, too.”

Ithan! Tharion! Flynn and Dec! I love them all. The side characters and their arcs are just impeccable.

Now, that ending had me actually standing up and screaming, hand over mouth in SHOCK. How its all going to play out is a major question. I have no CLUEEE how SJM will manage to make it work. But gods, just reading that final chapter brought some special kind of joy into my heart. What crack is in these books? I just love the SJM universe so much. Ugh.

One litttlllee tiny issue I did have was that some parts did feel a bit dragged or maybe over explained or focused on. However, by the last 200 pages that was all forgotten and I was in survival mode with this beast of a book. I don't even know how I made it through alive, that was proper bonkers.

I'm so sad this is over, but I'm also bouncing in my boots because HOFAS will be here in 2 1/2 months AHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

In summary, read ACOTAR, read ToG, read CC. You'll never be the same again.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is all

SpoilerMore like a 4.5 for me (had to deduct half a star for the use of member and her sex)
Let's goooooooo infinity war
I think this is my favorite SJM book I've read and i fear the next installment will ruin everything

Reread edit: The twists do be twisty. Danika never slept. Engage TOG knowledge for theories... ::brain implodes:: This better not be terrible for no reason... -_-

I was so excited to jump back into the story of Bryce and Hunt. After House of Earth and Blood I was left satisfied but with a powerful need for more. How will the second installment of Crescent City stack up? Let’s find out!

(This is a sequel, probably, no, most definitely, don’t read this it if you haven’t read book 1.)

Read if you like: adult high fantasy combined with urban fantasy, strong side characters, *roll the R* rrr-romance, lovely character development, strong yet emotionally intelligent men, and a leading lady who can kick butt or charm the pants off, ya!

Bryce and Hunt are back. Well, I guess they are where we left them, we’re just back with them! Although they have been ordered to lie low and stick with the status quo, there’s trouble afoot, and our daring duo aren’t ones to sit on the sidelines. When rebel activities show up on their radar they have to decide if they should help. Bryce is once again leading with her heart and trying to do the right thing in the middle of a situation where others are only looking to get the upper hand for their side of the cause.

Hunt is reluctant. His personal experience with rebellion has left haunting scars and untapped trauma. And the last thing he wants is to see the people he cares about in a similar situation. Ruhn, Tharion, Fury, Ithan, and all the rest find themselves securely in the middle of the action and we get to delve into their lives and roles in the developing war and fight for freedom in Crescent City and all of Midgard.

It took me two whole weeks to be able to write this review without my brain defaulting to: WHAAAAAAT?!

In the last section of the book, I screamed three times. I literally could not even. LIT-ER-AL-LY!
But let’s go back to the beginning. We get a prologue that jolts us out of Crescent City and sets us up for the action in the rest of the book. When we return to Bryce and Hunt, we are slowly reintroduced to the couple and their new lives with their friends and family. Things are good maybe a little too good, and that makes everyone nervous. But before they can try to convince each other that good is actually good, a whole lot of bad gets dumped into their laps. So, it’s back to scheming and hoping they don’t all die. The side characters are amazing and their stories truly get to shine. Ruhn, Tharion, Ithan, Hypaxia, and a new arrival or a few take the main focus throughout the story and I’ve never been happier to get more people on the page.

AND Bryce and Hunt finally get together, if you know what I mean.
