I listened to this on audio and I highly recommend that experience. But I also wish that I had a physical copy to annotate because there was A LOT that I wanted to highlight and tab. There was a few things that I knew about but there was a really good conversation that I needed to listen to. I think everyone should read this because it may by eye opening to some, it may not be to others but you will learn ATLEAST SOMETHING from this book.

An important foundational text on intersectionality.

This was so good! Super informative and eye opening. This definitely helped me see a lot of the myths I unconsciously believed were true. The recounts of slavery and the horrors black women in particular truly gave be a better understanding of the horrors my ancestors went through. Unsurprisingly I never learned this in my history books in school.

A great book that everyone should be required to read!

This was really informative and shows what feminism should be like. If you want to learn more about intersectionality and how the women’s rights movement leaded by white women often meant the rich white women’s movement since they didn’t care for BIPOC or others social economic classes.
Bell Hooks is amazing!! Must read
