I listened to this on audio and I highly recommend that experience. But I also wish that I had a physical copy to annotate because there was A LOT that I wanted to highlight and tab. There was a few things that I knew about but there was a really good conversation that I needed to listen to. I think everyone should read this because it may by eye opening to some, it may not be to others but you will learn ATLEAST SOMETHING from this book.

This was really informative and shows what feminism should be like. If you want to learn more about intersectionality and how the women’s rights movement leaded by white women often meant the rich white women’s movement since they didn’t care for BIPOC or others social economic classes.
Bell Hooks is amazing!! Must read

My first text by bell hooks and I am blown away by the nuance, the sharp eye, the eloquence, and the deep knowledge of the field. This book is just as current today as it was in the 80's, not only for the American feminists. This might be one of the most important and influential piece of literature I have ever had the pleasure to read.
