5 stars, it was amazing.
This is not stellar literature. However, it is ultra consistent face slapping with an unbeatable main character. If that sounds good you will love all of it. If that sounds bad, you will hate all of it.
06/2021: I have read up to chapter 1234/3200 (author still writing)
12/2021: I got my way up to around 1500 with sporadic reading.
This review was written June 2021.
Characters: 2/5 Okay
Everyone is one dimensional and I wouldn't have it any other way.
World: 4/5 I really liked it
Given that this is a guilty pleasure story that is seen as bad literature, the world is incredibly fleshed out. The main character visits all kinds of ancient secrets and treasure realms, and they all fit in very well with the universe and lore. This was a top notch world building job.
Story: 5/5 I loved it
This isn't for everyone. This is a completely indulgent face slapping and treasureseeking unearthing adventure. Seriously, that is all that happens for over a thousand chapters. It is the most consistent novel in all of history, with zero character development and zero deviation from the author's god-given purpose, which is to bless us all with glorious face slapping that is high quality and limitless.
The main character is a hundred million year old monster who knows almost every secret of the universe and goes through the nine heavens and ten earths kicking butt. The only thing that sparks joy for him is getting young masters to give him no face and then killing them. The entire story is following the main character as he leisurely strolls through the nine worlds collecting treasures and followers (all lovingly one dimensional and quickly left behind by the story) and killing young masters and often their whole sects along with them.
