Re-read: Better than the first read but still boring. Also Jonathan swift is a big fat liar… he really tried to convince us that he accidentally rode a dogs back for 200 yards and used it’s tail as a bridle… sure Jono

A modest proposal indeed. Why tax the rich when you can just use this one weird trick

A riot

This book is maybe one of the best works I have read so far.
The dark and satirical element of this proposal shows perfectly how society is willing to do pretty much everything for money and being provided and, so, has almost no moral limits. He made many good points, one can not deny that. If you can lay your morals aside for a second, I think you will love this book.

What a masterclass in satirical and rhetorical writing techniques! Brilliant, disturbing, poignant, and ever so relevant in its contents, A Modest Proposal highlights societal apathy in the most cruelly cold voice. A quick must read for everyone!
