So every year for my degree, all the faculty and students on my course read the same book over the summer to start on the same page - literally. Last year we had a fiction book, so when I saw we had a non-fiction book I was a bit apprehensive, as over the summer I had definitely lost my psychology head. However, this book is perfect not only as an introduction to modern psychology, but also as a gentle recap for students going back to their degrees after summers of holidaying and working in retail. Although it took me a few weeks, I did really enjoy it, and am going to look out for more books by Kinderman.

Good book overall. Felt it was a little bland though. No major new theory or in depth analysis. just a book which basically argues that we should be more CBT oriented, not just with people who experience mental distress but with our whole outlook on life. Which I agree with absolutely.
