Ava hopes to fix up the place and sell it as a retreat for others. Love hearing how they get on each others nerves and make life miserable to each other.
They do compromise and you wonder how far they will go. Hot steamy sex scenes.

What a fantastic read! I loved the two main characters and their snarky interactions and found that I never got tired of reading about them, as I tend to do with books longer than 300 pages. There were enough pop culture references for me to appreciate without feeling like the story was leaning on them to make me feel more attached. I highly recommend reading this for anyone who wants a good, strong romance with just enough angst and pride between the two main characters to make the story one you won't want to put down until you've finished it.

Lots of good things about this book, but overall not for me. The wacky romantic comedy thing is something I’ve come to realize I just don’t like.
I liked this better than I thought I would considering that the title makes me cringe a little, and considering that I'm not a fan of people in their thirties going back home to the small town and falling in love with their high school sweethearts. I mean, gosh, move on from high school already, please. But I found that Avalon and Mac were engaging protagonists and their relationship really worked in this story. Minor quibble: nobody ever, ever has to explain a loathing for the song Don't Cry Out Loud. Really, that dislike can stand by itself without any backstory. The storytelling flowed well and the dialogue was very strong.

I liked the humor and Avalon, the female lead. The big reveal of why they split up when they were young that we finally got at the end of the story made me dislike Mac, the male lead.
