"We are all of us in this room
still waiting to be transformed. This is why we search for love.
We search for it all of our lives,
even after we find it."

I dont usually read poetry but that was nice and quiet, I could lean into the stillness.

Loved this book. Reading it felt like viewing the world after a fresh snowfall—Each poem felt familiar, but there was an otherworldly newness to them.
Glück's style could best be summarized as the way lines from meaningful conversations begin to inhabit you. You know how sometimes you'll be talking to someone and one of you stumbles into wisdom? That's what every single poem feels like in this book. You can't always tell where Glück is leading you, but by the end, it's so obvious that it couldn't have gone any other way.
This is also an exceptionally readable book, so if you find poetry estranging, this is a good book to help you feel like you "get" it.

Not much of a poetry person, but these contained enough concrete images to sink into me. Also loved the focus on seasons.

Not what I expected form Louise Gluck. I was pulled in by the cover and liked 2 or 3 poems but mostly I didn’t connect and plan to revisit later (maybe winter, maybe older). Very sparse and human experience centered unlike her other collections.
