Great book! It's equal parts self help in the mental health area, and kind of a memoir as the author weaves in their own life story as a guide within some chapters. I'll definitely continue to use this book on my journey of better self worth/compassion and mental health. I took notes on all of the great lessons each chapter had and worked on them along the way, but there is still work to be done! I highly recommend others give it a read!

😇 I was really excited about this book since I started following the Holistic Psychologist on IG last year and saw this book reach the top of bestseller lists earlier this year. I found her posts really helpful since she focuses on the mind, body, and soul connection, a view that is currently not well adopted by healthcare professionals. Mental health and physical health are largely regarded as separate.
Unfortunately, I didn't learn anything new from reading this book. I think I would have benefitted from it if I had read it a year or more ago. At this point, I've read a fair amount of books discussing childhood trauma, attachment theory, the nervous system, etc.
tl;dr - This book is not a must-read. You can obtain all of the same information from looking at her IG page and YouTube channel. 😇
