This small book I purchased a while ago on accident believing it to be a different book with the same title. I have now fallen in love not only with Fadiman's light hearted writing but with the genre of books on books. It will not take you long to read but Fadiman's essay's on the joys of readings will have you laughing out loud. She makes blunt realistic statements about the act of reading and the wonderful addiction that follows after you've been bitten by the literature bug.
