The anti-bulling message of the book is good. However, there was so much internalization and so little action, I was bored out of my mind. I kept jumping forward a paragraph or two every time the main character started thinking, because it would go on and on.

Bullying is our modern day Hydra, and Carr authentically reveals this social ill with great compassion. My eyes teared multiple times while reading. The story's strengths and sense of urgency lie with Jane. Through her narrative, Jane reveals the ugly truths about the long-term effects of bullying. Her personal growth motivates me to become a champion supporter of the Janes, Travises, and Rhondas of the world.

As a romance, this story was okay. There wasn't enough relationship build up for the romance to feel real; therefore, the ending felt rushed. I would have liked more dialogue between Jane and Eva to gain additional insight into Eva's character.
