I love Christmas stories, so I may be a little biased. This is a sweet tale about the importance of family, hope, and courage in times of discouragement. Children and adults alike will be touched and interested to learn that The Flying Santa is real. I would love to snuggle up with my family and read this one on some snowy night before Christmas.
Sweet story about a group of people who use airplanes to deliver Santa's magic to families on the barrier islands in the northeast. Based on a true story with some historical information in the back.

I didn't know about the Flying Santa Plane. Very endearing story.
I love stories that are based on true events or situations in history that most people don't know about. This story takes place on an island with a lighthouse keeper and his two children. There hasn't been a way to get to the mainland and get things for Christmas, and a winter storm doesn't help. But the girl is determined to make Christmas a special day anyway.
I loved the ending and reading about the real group who actually did did do those things (sorry, I don't want to spoil the story).
The illustrations were more on the cute side, but I still liked them.
