There’s better M/M romance and there’s better smut out there. Mostly a snooze fest.
Loved the Character growth and development. The plot is carefully plotted in such a way to force Damian and even Laurent to make decisions they wouldn't normally make. Character driven with lots of romance suspense building in a surprising way. I look forward to reading the next installment and seeing how the Author continues to push and pull the characters into one another.

Ok tbh I have mixed feelings about this I’m not sure if I liked the book as much as I liked Damen and Laurent but most of the time this is what happens when I start a trilogy
This happened with TFC as well, I wasn’t sure if I LOOOVED it and I was IN LOVE with it when I was done with the second book so yeah I feel like this was just a warm up and I'm pretty sure I will love the other books better. I have high expectations for Kings Rising.
I will probably write a long review after I'm done with the series.
I also read between the lines, my heart is aching for Laurent (can i call you bby? no? okay.). The part where Damen saw Laurent while he was reading just HIT me, it was so beautiful but no I have to stay strong - what is to come will hurt me more I know.
