This manga is a one shot and is just so, so beautiful.

It's the sort of manga that makes you feel nostalgic and remembering the days when you were younger, but it is also full of twists and turns that you don't see coming until you're at the end.

The ending is so insane that you as the reader honestly can't tell what the real ending is. I love unreliable narrators, especially when they manage to trick their audience aka us readers. There are few books that make you stare at a wall wondering about the truth of the book but this was one of them. And all told through immersive art.

I still think about it even over a month later.

SUCH a unique manga. The way the panels are drawn all shaky like they’re filmed on a shaky cell phone was incredible, especially the scene where Eri’s friend’s face has that creepy distorted smile. I absolutely did not expect the twist with the mother halfway through, and that’s when I started crying. It’s just such a smart concept, and the execution was flawless and packed a punch. I would love to see this animated, but it’s honestly such a talented piece as it is now. The ending was awesome. The repeated motif of Yuta filming himself shitting was bizarre and so on brand for Fujimoto, that weirdo.

Ah a good cry...just what I needed.

So Yuta was given a smart phone by his mother to film her before she passes away. Through the first 1/4th of we see this young boy film away until his mother does pass away but before we see her final moments the film he was creating ends in an explosion. He shows this movie to his fellow students at school and they laugh and make fun of him. So he thinks about killing himself when he meets a young girl name Eri, in which he then turns to create a new movie.

This deals with very heavy themes. Mainly grief, loss, and suicidal tendencies. It also focuses on creation, and hoe we strive to show our work while also being loved. And it's through the creation of his second product he tries to find love. Many twist and turns, perception being the biggest thing, till the end where it hits you like a ton of bricks. This is a MUST read and might be my favorite work from this creator who has now proven himself multiple times he can create magic with his words/art. A 5 out of 5.
