lexi reminds me so much of me. i love her.
fast-paced

Poor Riley, I was hoping he'd slowly get her to fall in love with him with a standard story but oof.
Really liked that he was able to get on the ice again, that's a really nice result.

I'm also glad that in this one his mentioned preferences in bed actually appear in-bed, and don't contradict the formerly mentioned ones. However I am tired of the same things appearing in this series. Did you know that all hockey players on the team like to snap the elastic of their partners' underwear? And that all their partners like it? and oh hey, at least twice the same formulation of "let me ask you man to man" is used across this series? And stop with the "let's do this once" to "let's be fwb" to "actually let's be more BUT not in a relationship!" to "ok let's be in a relationship" and then optionally a freak out when one says they love the other. There are more similarities, but that's all of the top of my head. It's so fucking boring. More variation between the books would be really really good. But we'll see! I'm definitely reading the next one and maybe the break between them will allow me to forget these irritatingly consistent callbacks that honestly shouldn't be there.
